Who handles your data

What is collected, and why

Only what you type into the contact form: name, company, email address, telephone number, type of enquiry and message. Name, email address and message are required; company, telephone number and type of enquiry are optional.

This information serves one purpose: replying to you and discussing your request. It is never sold, never used for direct marketing, and never added to a mailing list.

The legal basis is your own request: you write to get an answer, and the data you send is needed to provide it.

Who receives it

Your message is turned into an email and sent to the publisher's business email address. Six technical providers are involved, and no others:

Vercel Inc. hosts the site and keeps technical request logs (IP address, page requested), for the security and operation of the service.

Resend delivers the email. Sending is configured to use its European infrastructure in Ireland.

Vercel Analytics counts page views and referrers, without cookies or any persistent identifier: it does not track anyone from one visit to the next and cannot recognise you.

Hostinger International Ltd. hosts the publisher's own server, on which Umami, the second analytics tool, runs. The data centre is in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and therefore within the European Union. Umami records no cookie, no IP address and nothing that could identify you: country, region, browser, operating system, device type, the pages viewed and the referring page, and nothing more.

Backblaze keeps the backups of that server, in its European region (Amsterdam, the Netherlands). They are encrypted before they leave the server, so the provider never sees them in the clear.

deSEC e.V., a German non-profit association, provides DNS for the analytics subdomain, that is, the link between its name and the server's address.

For how long

Messages received are kept in the publisher's mailbox for the duration of the exchange, then for at most three years from the last contact, the usual length of a business relationship. You can ask for them to be deleted at any time before then.

Visit statistics are kept for fourteen months, then deleted automatically.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies and uses no advertising trackers or embedded social media. Both of the analytics tools described above work without cookies or any persistent identifier. That is why you never see a cookie banner.

Your rights

You have a right of access to your data, and a right to have it rectified or erased, to have its processing restricted, and to object to that processing. Simply write to the address above and you will have an answer within one month.

If that answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels, autoriteprotectiondonnees.be.

Updates

This policy describes the site as it works today. If another service were added, this policy would be updated before that service went live.
